Skiing and winter sports
Just 5 km from our house lies the ski resort Tatranská Lomnica, one of the highest resorts in Slovakia, featuring some of the country's steepest ski slopes. At the base of Lomnický štít, you'll find groomed trails reaching an altitude of 2,196 meters. The locality is also very popular for ski mountaineering or cross-country skiing.
In addition, the slopes of Starý Smokovec and Štrbské Pleso are located nearby. You can even enjoy skiing from Hrebienok to Starý Smokovec.
In winter, you should not miss a visit to the Ice House on Hrebienok or winter hiking.
Hiking and summer sports
The High Tatras boast countless hiking trails at various altitudes. Both experienced hikers and climbers, as well as seniors and families with children, will find something to enjoy here.
The highest peak, Gerlachovský štít (2655 m a.s.l.), is accessible only with a mountain guide, but the second-highest peak, Lomnický štít (2634 m a.s.l.), can be reached by cable car.
In addition, you can visit numerous mountain huts, glacial lakes, waterfalls, and peaks, where you can admire the flora and fauna of the majestic Slovak mountains.
If you enjoy summer activities, you can try climbing, paragliding, boating, and many others.
